Blue Cross of Idaho UX Designer in Meridian, Idaho

The User Experience (UX) Designer will be responsible for the user interface design, usability and visual design required to create scalable applications and engaging user experiences that improve the customer experiences provided through the BCI Customer Relationship Management solutions which include the Salesforce.com platform, SharePoint sites and portal communities. Customers include both internal business users (Sales Operations, Product Development, Enrollment & Billing, etc.) and external constituents including Brokers and Members.

QUALIFICATIONS: *_(Minimum qualifications *requiredfor the job)_

  • Experience:3 years’ of user experience designer, interaction designer, or similar role designing customer experiences for software, workflow and/or web applications which leverage emergent technologies, cloud applications, consumer electronics and/or mobile devices
  • Education: *Bachelor’s degree in interaction design, new media design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or related design field; *or equivalent work experience (two years’ work experience is equivalent to one year college)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills and sketchbook technique
  • Exceptional design skills, production value and attention to detail
  • User interface design patterns and standard User Centered Design (UCD) methodologies
  • Fluency in best practices for CRM information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
  • Common software project management practices including Agile, SCRUM, etc.
  • Common software development practices including SDLC
  • Familiarity with software development concepts and terms (HTML, API, CSS, Rails, JavaScript/JQuery, C++ (Android) a plus)

Skills:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization

  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in interaction design, new media design, human-computer interaction (HCI)
  • Experience designing Cloud Solution interfaces
  • Understanding of the health insurance industry
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Creation and execution of system test life cycle
