Blue Cross of Idaho Business Analyst or Senior in Meridian, Idaho

To provide business process management, monitoring, analysis and technical expertise that supports the implementation and maintenance of Healthcare Operations (HCO) systems and software. Analyze, design and solve problems related to systems use, business practice and workflows. Gather and document business specifications and requirements, perform testing for both clinical and business process changes, and be the liaison and primary contact to IT for business needs. Deliver responsive and appropriate business and clinical solutions. Through process improvement opportunities, plan, develop and implement procedures and guidelines to support the business.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Minimum qualifications required for the job)

  • Experience (for Business Analyst level): One year business analysis experience (within health insurance, healthcare or related industry); or Three years’ healthcare related systems experience

  • Experience: Three years' business analysis experience (within health insurance, healthcare or related industry); or Five years’ healthcare related systems experience

  • Care Coordination/Case Management/Utilization Management

  • Program and/or project management methodologies and principles

Ability to:

  • Work with externally assigned project managers as the primary Liaison for any HCO system product

  • Gather and/or develop business requirements and user stories

  • Analyze business requirements and apply system rules to achieve desired outcome

  • Create and execute system test life cycles

  • Assume responsibility, communicate and set priorities, coordinate problem resolution among technical and non-technical staff, and complete assignments on schedule

  • Assume responsibility for clinical information systems and functions to assure effectiveness and efficiency of the applications for all lines of business

  • Assure compliance with operation policies and procedures

  • Identify risks and problem areas and facilitate resolution and/or mitigation plans

  • Be a self–starter, manage multiple concurrent tasks, and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer science, business, and/or healthcare)

  • Jiva and/or Facets knowledge

  • Agile experience

  • Clinical Informatics experience.

  • In depth knowledge of health insurance industry

  • Experience in quality improvement
