We currently have a Senior Embryologist position available at our BUSINESS facility in Fresno, CA.
SUMMARY The Senior Embryologist will work at the bovine IVF laboratory. They will coordinate with other embryologists in the lab to oversee the maturation, fertilization and culture of In-vitro produced embryos. They will provide mentorship guidance and support to other laboratory personnel. May serve as technical lead for team, may supervise directly, responsible for training, mentoring, and directing day to day work, as well as performance management. They will analyze results trouble shoot and suggest changes that may lead to improvement in production.
RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze results, trouble shoot, and suggest changes to protocol, (Production Base).Collect and aspirate ovaries, and perform maturation, fertilization, and culture of IVF embryos.Coordinate and carryout the maturation, fertilization, culture and vitrification of In-vitro produced embryos.Coordinate with Senior Embryologist and other lab personnel to complete daily activities or projects.Provides IVF laboratory support (embryo culture, freezing and thawing, and all aspects of oocyte recovery and handling) and support with embryo transfer operation.May be responsible for directing work of the team. May also be accountable for supervising staff, managing performance, assisting with development, and managing day-to-day staffing needs.Responsible for maintaining accurate records of media preparations, purchase reagents, and recording accurate results.
REQUIREMENTS Master's degree (M.A.) or equivalent and 5 years of Embryology experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of Embryology experience. Preference will be given to individuals with large animal experience and those fully trained in IVF lab procedures with beef or dairy cattle; including embryo culture, freezing & thawing of embryos, and all aspects of oocyte recovery and handling in the embryology laboratory. Experience and desire to work with cattle in a ranch setting is a plus.
