St. Luke's Health System Nurse Apprenticeship - Treasure Valley in Boise, Idaho
St. Luke's is announcing a new Nursing Apprenticeship program for student nurses. This employment experience will provide you with the opportunity to expand your nursing knowledge and critical thinking skills while working in direct patient care alongside experienced nursing professionals.
This Nurse Apprenticeship Program experience is designed to provide a supportive, positive , acute care experience for BSN students to apply critical thinking and nursing knowledge while functioning in the role of a nurse apprentice. The purpose is to build relationships, gain knowledge and exposure to the benefits of a nursing career at St. Luke's Health System.
Full time May - August (Program starts May 21st and goes for 10 weeks)
12 hours per month from September - May (One 12 hour shift a month)
To be accepted for the nurse externship, you must have:
Completed junior year of a four-year accredited baccalaureate program in nursing.
A letter from the Idaho State Board of Nursing verifying qualifications to function as a Nurse Apprentice .
A current AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support for Healthcare Providers certificate of completion which must not expire before August 2018.
A letter of recommendation from a nursing professor indicating a satisfactory academic record.
Apply to and successfully interview for a limited number of Apprenticeship positions
In addition, you must be interested in pursuing a permanent position with St. Luke’s Clinical Support Unit (Float Pool) upon graduation.
