Distributes and retrieves menus and serve food trays to the patients. Assists the patients with menu selection and opening packaged food items. Picks up soiled patient trays from the floors. Scrapes, and loads soiled dishes on dish machine. Removes clean dishes, checks for cleanliness, and puts them in their proper location.
Work Schedule Information: This position will work less than part-time hours, and could be used as on-call or as needed. This position may work weekends and evenings.
Job Description Details:
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
On-the-job training in the Food Service Associate position or diet therapy orientation by a licensed dietitian.
Previous experience in hospital food service helpful.
Competency in basic literacy skills including reading and oral communication and basic math skills required.
Meets Health System's Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
Demonstrates the ability to operate the dishwashing machine, scraping and loading soiled dishes and tableware. Removes and stocks clean dishes and tableware.
Demonstrates the ability to maintain a neat, clean and organized work area. Demonstrates a working knowledge of basic safe food handling practices.
Demonstrates ablility to perform and meet hospital standard for sanitation, personal hygiene, and hand washing.
Works as a collaborative member of the team.
Demonstrates the ability to operate, including, dismantling and cleaning, off all equipment relevant to specific work area.
