Job Description:

Continues to lead and further develop a comprehensive FERC hydro licensing and compliance program. Provides subject matter expertise on hydro relicensing and compliance policy review, interpretation and coordination with internal legal counsel to influence strategic direction and decision making. Coordinates compliance reporting, consultation and tracking of all FERC hydro licenses and provides associated analytics to senior management. Provides project management and coordination on FERC relicensing projects, including proposing processes and timelines to meet relicensing requirements. Coordinates associated agency consultation and document development to support the relicensing process. Develops, implements and revises FERC land management plans, including project level clearances for activities occurring with a FERC project boundary.


Knowledge of:

  • FERC hydro compliance and licensing regulations, environmental regulations including ESA, CWA, and NHPA

  • Knowledge of regulatory agencies, their policies and priorities, and culture

  • Utility operations and environmental regulatory requirements

  • Microsoft Office software and other PC applications.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, finance, economics, public administration, law, math, natural resources, environmental, biology or related field; OR equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.


  • Master's degree in a related field


Seven or more years of work experience in compliance or closely related field.


  • Five or more years of utility experience. Experience in compliance or audit. Experience with utility operations. Experience as project manager in natural resource, compliance or environmental science fields.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position.


  • Project Management certification
